Michigan State Senator Marshall Bullock (D-Detroit) came to Creative Montessori Academy, March 26, 2019, from noon to 2 p.m. to celebrate Reading Month. He visited every classroom and was able to read to the kindergarten through third grade students.

In the seventh and eighth grades, he held court and also quizzed them on the 3 branches of government. He asked questions about what they were reading and explained the bill writing process.

“To have Sen. Bullock (D-Detroit) at CMA is such an honor. He truly believes and is invested in our education system,” Dr. Allan Carter, Head of School at Creative Montessori Academy commented. “It is a great opportunity for our students to learn who are our politicians and what they are doing to make a difference in our own community.”

Senator Bullock was elected in 2018 and is part of District 4. He represents Wayne County which includes Allen Park City, Detroit City, Lincoln Park City and Southgate City.

CMA is part of the 239,597 people that Senator Bullock represents in the district. CMA was happy to show him all the great things that are happening. They are thankful for his service and commitment to putting kids first.
