Our Teachers
Our primary goal is for your child to gain self-confidence and become an independent learner. Our prepared environment presents multiple opportunities for children to develop a genuine love of learning.
We Focus On:
- Awakening your child’s spirit and imagination
- Encouraging independence and self-esteem
- Developing kindness, courtesy, and self-discipline
- Teaching children how to observe, question, and learn independently
The Discovery House teacher introduces lesson to the class as a whole, small groups, and also individually.
Our Curriculum
Discovery House follows four main curriculum areas throughout the school year:
Practical Life
Activities children encounter in daily living such as pouring, scooping, and buttoning — building independence and self-esteem.
Sensorial
Materials that help children understand size, volume, length, texture, temperature, weight, color, shape, and sound.
Language
Children are immersed in language daily through songs, poems, stories, discussions, and Spanish instruction.
Mathematics
Children develop foundational math skills including order, sequence, patterns, relationships, quantity, and dimension.
