Golf Outing Raises Enough Money For Two STEAM Labs!

STEAM learning happens naturally every day as children explore, play and try new things. It inspires integrative learning in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. Creative Montessori Academy has wanted to build a STEAM lab for a long time now.

“It would help build a curriculum that prepares our children to succeed in the 21st-century world,” Dr. Alan Carter, headmaster of Creative Montessori Academy, said.

STEAM education like creativity, problem-solving skills, innovation, teamwork and leadership are close to the principles of the Montessori method. Having it would be a great addition to the school and curriculum.

In order to build these two STEAM lab and to provide other materials for student success, funds needed to be raised. So, on June 1, 2019, sixty-eight golfers played at Riverview Highlands Golf Club to raise money for this important addition to the school. There was also a silent auction with dinner afterward.

More than $10,000 was raised at the event!

This event would not have been made possible without the endless hours the school staff and leaders poured into it. It was a great success for the first golf outing and they hope to continue this tradition in upcoming years.
