March at Creative Montessori Academy

March has been a month full of excitement, victory and books at Creative Montessori Academy! With March is Reading Month coming to an end, we celebrated with our students and families by dressing up as our favorite characters, reading our favorite books, and even meeting a new friend along the way! Aside from what has been an amazing reading month, we also are proud to celebrate the boys basketball team as league runner-up in the division! Let’s take a look at the joys of March!

March is Reading Month

March not only marks the start of National Reading Month, but the late Dr. Seuss’s birthday. We celebrated in proper fashion with students and their instructors dressing up as characters from Dr. Seuss’s iconic The Cat In The Hat.

Visit from Alumni!

Another exciting happening at CMA this month was a visit from CMA alum and big brother to a young student, Malik Olafioye. Malik has had eyes across the nation on him as he rises through the ranks as a promising basketball player. His performances with the nearby Ecorse High School has led to offers from more than a dozen colleges, and his visit to his former school was more than appreciated. Malik has been nominated for Gatorade’s Player of the Year, and was kind enough to give the students books, Gatorade bottles, and towels! From one CMA Dragon to another, we look forward to watching his journey unfold.

On the subject of basketball, we would like to wrap up the highlights of the month with the CMA Men’s Basketball team finishing their season as league runner-up. They were playoff champions in their division, and co-champions in the division as a whole. Their effort and passion for the sport is obvious in the classroom, and we are honored to have fine young gentlemen show school what Creative Montessori Academy stands for: hard work, dedication, and discipline.

Creative Montessori Academy was busy as ever this month, and looking back on what we were able to accomplish, we’re excited to keep the positive happenings going! As we march towards the end of the school year, (no pun intended) we are ecstatic to see our students and families finishing strong.
